Growing up along the Space Coast in Cocoa Beach, Florida, Brian watched in awe as America launched astronauts to the moon on the Saturn V rockets from Kennedy Space Center. After seeing premieres of 2001: A Space Odyssey, Star Wars and Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind in theaters and Star Trek and Lost In Space on TV, Brian was hooked on sci-fi and space exploration at a young age. His CB radio handle in the 1970s was of course, “Captain Kirk.” Brian had the awesome opportunity to work on the Thermal Protection System for the Space Shuttle Columbia in 1979-80 with a once in a lifetime tour of the spacecraft which included sitting in the pilot’s seat. Brian was awestruck when he asked the technicians providing the tour if they could make the controls “light up like a Cadillac dashboard,” and they did. 

Brian embraced that fascination for space with his passion for radio broadcasting on stations like CK-101 in Cocoa Beach, Florida, 104-FM KRBE in Houston, Texas, and Star-101, Cool-105.9 and Smooth Jazz 103.1 WLOQ in Central Florida. That experience led to teaching radio production and programming to students at the University of Central Florida and culminated in the creation of The RIM, The Reference for Intergalactic Media. The RIM is a public service internet radio station, created for the consciousness development of humanity in preparation for first contact.
